ORANGEBURG PREP’S LOWER CAMPUS’ SUPPLY LIST
2008 — 2009


PRESCHOOL

Supplies for preschoolers: Three 8 count packages of Crayola crayons, an eight count package of classic colored Crayola broad tip markers, a composition notebook, five large glue sticks, one package of No. 2 pencils, one fine point dry erase marker (black), one box of Kleenex tissues, two rolls of paper towels, one package of band-aids, two packages of anti-bacterial wipes, one box of seven ounce Dixie cups, one package of gallon sized Ziploc bags, one bag of plastic spoons, one roll-up mat which includes a pillow and blanket for rest time (these can be purchased from J. C. Penney and other stores), and one canvas tote bag with handles (no zippers). We prefer tote bags that the children can carry (no book bags). Please bring your child’s supplies to the Parent/Teacher Orientation.

KINDERGARTEN

Supplies for kindergarteners: three packs of EIGHT COUNT PACKAGE OF CLASSIC CRAYOLA CRAYONS, eight count package of CLASSIC CRAYOLA BROAD TIP MARKERS, four glue sticks, one package of No. 2 pencils, one package of antibacterial wipes, one box of Kleenex tissues, one roll of paper towels, one container of Clorox wipes, one bottle of liquid antibacterial soap, one single subject notebook, one pink rubber hand pencil eraser, and one canvas tote bag with handles or a book bag. We prefer tote bags or book bags that the children can carry. Although wheeled book bags are allowed, they are bulky, hard to hang, and hazardous in the halls. Kindergartners are not required to carry excessive weight to justify wheels. Additional items may be requested by individual teachers at the meeting with parents. Please bring your child's supplies to the “Meet the Teacher” on the Friday before school starts.

FIRST GRADE

Supplies for first graders: Backpack for books (no wheeled book bags), a school box for pencils, scissors (Fiskar—blunt tip), crayons (box of 16), four glue sticks, one package of No. 2 pencils, one large box of Kleenex, a clipboard (standard size 8-1/2" x 11"), one box of wipes (boys — Clorox & girls — unscented), one marble composition book (100 sheets - 9-3/4” x 7-1/2”), two jumbo sized stretchable book covers, a 5” x 8” soft-sided/canvas zippered pencil pouch, two wide ruled spiral notebooks, a package of Sanford Magic-Rub white rubber hand erasers, and one box of small envelopes (keep at home). Please label all items with your child's name. No Trapper Keepers or 3-ring notebooks, please. Additional items will be requested by individual teachers at the first grade parents' meeting.

SECOND GRADE

The following items should be labeled with student's name and brought the first day of school: A sturdy 1” 3-ring binder with two dividers labeled “Homework” and “Cursive,” scissors (Fiskar – blunt tip), two two-pocket folders without metal clips, two packages of No. 2 pencils, glue sticks, one pack of colored pencils, one box Crayola crayons (16 count), one box of Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizers.


THIRD GRADE

Supplies for third grade include: School box to store supplies, notebook—3-ring binder, notebook paper (wide ruled), one package of divider tabs, one 12" ruler with centimeters and inches, one highlighter (any color), a package of No. 2 pencils, one large package of red ball-point pens, two dry erase markers (black or blue), two large boxes of Kleenexes, scissors—plastic (not blunt point), crayons—any size box, washable markers (optional), two small glue sticks, and one container of wet wipes. Please label all items with child's name. An additional blue or black dry erase marker is needed for music.

FOURTH GRADE

Supplies for fourth grade include: Small assignment notebook, a zippered 3-ring binder notebook, a package of subject dividers labeled—Homework, Reading, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, and Science, notebook paper (wide ruled), one two-pocket folder without metal clips, one large box of Kleenex, a ruler (standard/metric), a box of crayons—any size, markers, two writing pens (any color), small scissors, a package of No. 2 pencils, one glue stick, one subject spiral notebook, one highlighter (any color), and a school box to store supplies. A blue or black dry erase marker is needed for music.

FIFTH GRADE

Supplies for fifth grade include: A zippered Trapper Keeper or velcro closure notebook with six pocket dividers, notebook paper (wide ruled), No. 2 pencils, pens, one large box of Kleenex, two bound composition books (9.75 x 7.5 in.) wide ruled to be used as a journal, scissors, and one dry erase marker (black, blue, or green). Please label all school supplies with student's name.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES

First through fifth grade students need a black or blue dry erase marker and a dry eraser (cloths to erase will be fine) for their Music classes. The Music teacher along with the Art teacher would also like to have a box of Kleenexes each if anyone would like to donate some.

Third through fifth grade students will need a folder for their Spanish classes.

Fifth graders will need a one 1” binder in order to create a sports notebook.
