| GRADE 12 |
| ROBERT C BYRD SCHOLAR |
This award is a merit-based scholarship coming from a federally
funded program “to promote student excellence and achievement
and to recognize exceptionally able students who show promise
of continued excellence”. It is renewable for up to
three additional years as long as students are enrolled full-time
and maintain a B average in college. This year’s recipient
is Laura McLachlan. |
| NATIONAL MERIT CLEMSON UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP |
This year's recipient is Laura McLachlan. |
| SCISA HONOR GRADUATES |
Graduates earn this honor by a SAT score of 1100 and at
least a 3.5 GPA for each of the students seven semesters.
Earning this years SCISA honors are Lee Allen, Emily
Black, Ryan Berry, Jacob burger, Ryan Etheridge, Matthew Graham,
Janna Jeffcoat, Jessica Justice, De Lin, Justin Marro, Barbie
McCann, Ragan McDonald, Laura McLachlan, Anne Griffin Patterson,
Whitney Rhoad, and Nolan Whitman. |
| PALMETTO FELLOWS |
This award recognizes the most academically talented South
Carolina seniors. Recipients must make at least 1200 on the
SAT and be in the top 5% of the class and have a 3.5 GPA.
Student(s) recognized are Laura McLachlan, Anne Griffin
Patterson, Ragan McDonald, and De Lin. |
JUNIOR SERVICE LEAGUE DISTINGUISHED YOUTH |
The Junior Service League Distinguished Youth Award is presented
to one senior for loyalty, dedication and service to their
school. The recipient is elected by the staff. This year this
award is presented to Ryan Etheridge. |
| TOYOTA SCHOLARS AWARD |
Seniors earning this honor are actively involved in a service
organization or project that had a positive impact on the
school and/or community. The recipient is selected by a committee
from the school. This year’s recipient is Jessica
Justice. |
| CLEMSON COCA-COLA SCHOLARS AWARD |
Seniors presented this award are ranked first in their class
at the end of their junior year and are eligible for $2500
per year scholarship if they attend Clemson. This year’s
Clemson Coca-Cola Scholars Award goes to Laura McLachlan. |
| DAR GOOD CITIZEN AWARD |
The Daughters of the American Revolution Award is earned
by displaying dependability, service, and patriotism. One
senior is selected by the faculty for this award. This year
this award goes to Emily Black. |
| University of South Carolina Valedictorian Scholarship |
This award is given to the number one students at the end
of their junior year. This year's recipient is Laura
McLachlan. |
| GOVERNOR’S CITIZENSHIP AWARD |
The Governor of South Carolina presents this award to those
for outstanding character, service, leadership, responsibility,
and discipline. This award goes to Hunter Faulling. |
| THE ANNA TODD WOFFORD SCHOLARSHIP |
This award is given to a senior in recognition of outstanding
qualities of scholarship, leadership, and service. This year's
recipient is Anne Griffin Patterson. |
| PRINCIPAL'S LEADERSHIP AWARD |
This award is given to a senior in the top 20% of their
class who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities. This
year's recipient is Anne Griffin Patterson. |

| COKER COLLEGE SCHOLARS |
The designation as Coker College Scholars, which recognizes
students who rank in the top 30 percent of their high school
classes and have GP’s above 3.0 and an SAT score above
1,050 were given to Pooja Choudhari, Purva Choudhari,
Brett Bethune, Robert McCurry, Katherine Ford, Sally Lin,
Leah Davis, Meaghan Lake, Camden Yongue, Dalia Hloubi, Margaret
Godowns, Aaron Milhouse, John Brunson, Lauren Holley, Allie
Huggins, A.J. Andrews, Mason Hay, Zach Gearheart, Amber Bryant,

COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON CRISTERN SCHOLAR |
This award is presented to a student who has a GPA of 4.0
or higher and ranks in the top 5% of their class. They must
also score 1250 or more on the SAT. This year's recipients
are Pooja Choudhari and Purva Choudhari. |
| COLUMBIA COLLEGE SCHOLARS |
Named as Columbia College Scholars, which recognizes young
women who rank in the top 25 percent of their high school
classes and have high standardized scores are Meaghan
Lake, Sally Lin, Rebecca Lovelace, Taylor Marcus, Katherine
Ford, Margaret Godowns, Lauren Holley, Allie Huggins, Pooja
Choudhari, Purva Choudhari, Dorsey Craft, and Leah Davis. |

Converse presents this award to juniors who maintain a 3.5
GPA or higher and have an 1100 or above on the SAT. This year’s
recipients are Leah Davis, Rebecca Lovelace, Lauren
Holley, Allie Huggins, and Dorsey Craft. |
| FURMAN SCHOLAR |
Furman awards students who have a 4.0 GPA, have made a 1300
or above ont he SAT and rank in the top 5% of their class.
This year the award goes to Pooja Choudhari and Purva
Choudhari. |
| LANDER UNIVERSITY JUNIOR FELLOW |
Lander University Junior Fellow, which recognizes juniors
who exemplify leadership in both academic and co-curricular
activities are given to Brett Bethune, Leah Davis,
Meaghan Lake, and Camden Yongue. |
| NEWBERRY COLLEGE SCHOLAR |
Newberry College Scholar recognizes students who must be
in the top 20 percent of the junior class, have a 3.0 GPA
or higher, and score 1,000 or higher on the SAT or 24 or higher
on the ACT or 100 or higher on the PSAT were Brandon
Cox, Phillip Buie, Zach Gearheart, A.J. Andrews, Cole Felder,
Bo Fender, Margaret Godowns, John Brunson, Sarah Parker, Mason
Hay, Robert McCurry, Allie Huggins, and Michael Williamson. |
| PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE JUNIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD PC
JUNIOR FELLOW |
Presbyterian College presents the top two young men and
women who, after the first semester of their junior year have
cumulative averages of B+ or better for the previous 2 ½
years and have scored at least 1050 on the PSAT/SAT or 23
on the ACT included Pooja Choudhari, Purva Choudhari,
Robert McCurry, Katherine Ford, and Sally Lin. |
| USC AIKEN SCHOLARS |
USC-Aiken Scholars recognizes juniors who are completing
the college preparatory curriculum and rank in the top 15
percent of their class and participate in at least two extracurricular

Wofford presents this award to students who rank in the
top 10% of their class and scored 1150 or above on the SAT.

| JUNIOR MARSHALS |
To be considered, the student must have attended Orangeburg
Prep in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Eligibility is determined
on the basis of a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and
is ranked in the top 12 of their class. These juniors include
Pooja Choudhari, Purva Choudhari, Brett Bethune, Robert
McCurry, Sally Lin, Meaghan Lake, Camden Yongue, Dalia Hloubi,

| GOVERNOR’S SUMMER SCHOOL |
The Governor's summer School provides special academic opportunities
for a limited number of rising high school seniors who have
demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, intellectual
potential, and creativity. Students selected to attend this
summer's program are Dorsey Craft and Mason Hay. |

| HUGH O’BRIAN LEADERSHIP AWARD |
This award is given to a current sophomore that has been
identified as a leader within his/her class. This award is
presented to Kameron Union and Carlin Connelly. |
| WANNAMAKER AND WALLACE SCHOLARSHIPS |
These awards are presented annually to girls or boys. These
are tuition scholarships and students who receive these awards
demonstrate the following characteristics: scholarship, character,
citizenship, service to school, dependability and cooperation.

| AUSTIN/WAY SCHOLARSHIPS |
The Austin-Way Scholarship is presented annually to one
Orangeburg Preparatory student in grades 1-5, in grades 6-8,
and in grades 9-12. Each of the three scholarships is for
$1500 to be paid toward the student’s tuition. These
scholarships are based primarily on need and character with
consideration of the student’s academic performance.
The scholarships awarded are a result of the generous endowment
given by Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Austin in loving memory of their
two families, the Austins and the Ways. Both Mr. and Mrs.
Austin have believed in the value of a good education and
the rewards of hard work. A plaque for each of these scholarships
will be placed in the front office of the Upper Campus, and
the names of the recipients each year will be added to them.

| TOMMY WANNAMAKER AWARD |
The highest award any student can attain at Orangeburg Preparatory
School is the Tommy Wannamaker Award. Part of the criteria
for the Tommy Wannamaker Award is one's contribution to the
school This year's recipient is Emily Black. |
| MR. AND MISS INDIAN AWARD |
Every year Orangeburg Prep elects two senior students to
represent the school as Mr. and Miss Indian. This is not merely
a popularity contest, but is based on several factors including
scholarship, character, and contributions to the greater good
of our school. This year we have elected Emily Black
as Miss Indian and Hunter Faulling as Mr. Indian. |

| DUKE TIP QUALIFIERS |
To be eligible, seventh graders had to score in the 97 percentile
or above in either math, verbal, or total of both; these students
were eligible to take the SAT, though not all did so. Students

| GEORGE GRICE AWARD |
To be eligible, eighth graders had to score at or above
the 90th percentile nationally on the reading and/or math
portions of the SAT. These students are Taylor Huffstetler,
